Meghan Torchia

About

Meghan is a first-year PhD student working under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Manley. Her proposed dissertation revolves around the study of public dining and the commercial food industry in the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. She holds a Bachelor of Science (2018) and a Master of Arts (2023) both from the University of Toronto. Her Master’s project focused on portrayals of food in the Soviet satirical publication Krokodil. Her general research interests include Soviet history, food history, and material culture.
