After graduating in 1975, I went to McArthur College and received my BEd in 1976, and taught for two years in Oshawa with the Durham Board of Education. I had also joined the army reserves in 1975 and continued serving with the military (PWOR) until 2004, retiring with the rank of Captain.
After marrying Michael Shultz, a Kingston Police Officer, in 1978 and building a house near Seeley's Bay, I taught with the Leeds and Grenville Board of Education, which later merged to become the Upper Canada District School Board. I retired in 2013 after teaching for over 30 years.
I have 3 children: my son is currently finishing his PhD in astro-physics at Queen's; my daughter is married with two children and lives in Verona; my youngest is living and teaching in Edinburgh, Scotland.
I am still living in the same house I built with my husband in 1978 and am immensely enjoying retirement.
