After finishing my MA in 1994, I taught elementary and then secondary school for a number of years. In 1999, I completed an MA at the University of Guelph in Writing, and then went on to work as a speechwriter for the Ontario government. I wrote for Premiers Harris and Eves as a public servant, and then as a political staffer for Premier McGuinty. I was a Senior Advisor and Director for Premier McGuinty from 2004-2012, and then worked as a Communications Director at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine and at Lakeridge Health. In 2018, I started a communications company, LRC, and our firm has clients in industries and organizations of all sizes all around the world. I continue to write in my free time, volunteer in my community and have helped out on a number of municipal, provincial and federal political campaigns in various capacities. My wife and I live in Bowmanville, Ontario. I have a son (18) who is hoping to go to Queen's in the Fall of 2021, and we have a daughter (6 months) who is firmly focused on naps and eating. Queen's University was a formative experience in my life and my career, and I keep in touch with many of my friends from the department -- all of whom have gone on to do amazing things.
