Tory Hyndman

Born and raised in Vancouver, Tory obtained her history degree from Queen's University (1993) and then began her executive search career in Hong Kong in 1995 before joining the London office of Heidrick & Struggles in 1998. Tory spent 11 years with the firm where she was a Partner and a member of the Global Asset & Wealth Management Practice. During this time Tory also obtained her MBA at London Business School (2001). She joined David Barrett Partners in 2009 to establish and lead the London office and wider EMEA business. Tory joined Charta Partners in 2020.

Tory loved the broad remit across history that her studies at Queen's allowed her. Her interest in history has continued and she particularly enjoys political biographies and historical dramas. The analytical and communication skills that she honed at Queen's have been directly relevant to her executive search career. She maintains that a history degree is a great foundation that provides a springboard for both future studies and future career opportunities.

Tory is an Ambassador for the Diversity Project;  a volunteer for Founders4Schools, Maths4Girls and GAIN (Girls Are Investors); and a Governor of Somerset Nursery School in Battersea. She is married and also has two busy teenage children!
