Please consult our Student Information page for details related to the application process

Planning Checklist for Convocation

To help you plan for graduation and Convocation, we have prepared a printable checklist that outlines the various steps along the way

Ceremony Broadcasts and Recordings

  • Recordings of each ceremony will be posted for viewing on our Spring 2025 Ceremony Broadcasts page when available.

How to find your ceremony

1. Consult the Schedule of Ceremonies and Celebrations section below to find the specific date, time and venue for your ceremony (based on your Faculty / School and your program of study)

2. Review the applicable section (May Ceremonies or June Ceremonies) for information specific to your ceremony date/time

Schedule of Ceremonies and Celebrations

Each dropdown below provides ceremony dates based on program for Graduate and Undergraduate Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates. Carefully review the schedules by locating your program and referring to the ceremony date listed.

Convocation Ceremony Schedule

Attention Arts & Science Joint Honours: Please attend ceremony by first alphabetical department, using the Program Plan Code rather than the name.

  • For example, if your concentrations are ECON (Economics) in Ceremony 5 and DEVS (Global Development Studies) in Ceremony 6, you will attend based on the alphabetical order of the Program Code, which would be DEVS in Ceremony 6.

All graduates who choose to wear traditional regalia, or wish to receive a gift, must confirm arrangements with the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre via an online submission form at least two weeks prior to the future event they are scheduled to attend. This is to inform the event organizers.

A link to the submission form will be posted here when available

After your ceremony, you can return your rental gown and hood right away, or you can meet your family and friends and take photos before returning your gown and hood. Gowns and hoods must then be returned to Kingston Hall.

Optional traditional attire for Indigenous graduates

Indigenous graduates and faculty may choose to wear traditional Indigenous attire (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit), in lieu of a gown and hood, at convocation ceremonies.

Queen’s University acknowledges the diversity of Indigenous peoples, communities, and nations. As such it is recognized that traditional Indigenous attire may vary.

On-Site Photos

At Slush Puppie Place, after your ceremony, you can return your rental gown and hood right away, or you can meet your family and friends and take photos before returning your gown and hood. Gowns and hoods must then be returned at the King St. entrance.
