Departmental Teaching and Learning Support

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is available to facilitate departmental retreats, workshops, and curricular development. Educational developers are available to support your units in identifying teaching and learning goals and implementing plans to achieve these objectives in the short and long term.

People raising their hands CTL staff are experienced in facilitating retreats supporting the Queen’s Institutional Quality Assurance Process (QUQAP). These events are tailored to the needs of your programs, and can focus on a range of topics, including innovating program-level learning outcomes, curriculum mapping, reflecting and updating the progression of learning for different program pathways, articulating departmental objectives, and much more.

We are also experienced at developing and facilitating workshops on other elements of teaching and learning. Recently, we have facilitated retreats on integrating I-EDIAA (Indigenization-Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Accessibility) frameworks into course and program development, considering the impact of Generative AI on assessment design, and integrating active learning strategies in large undergraduate classrooms. We ensure that our events are collaborative, and that the event agenda is founded on departmental goals, interests, and strengths.
