Bader College Strategic Plan 2023 - 2028

Strategy Hero

This year, Bader College celebrates thirty years since Herstmonceux Castle Estate was gifted to Queen’s University by its benefactors, the late Drs. Alfred and Isabel Bader. As we mark this milestone in our history, we are proud to introduce our new Strategic Plan for 2023 – 2028.

Building on the success of our work over the last three decades, our new strategy continues to celebrate the strengths that make Bader College distinctive. We are committed to using our supportive and inclusive community to increase access to exceptional education that brings students and scholars together from across the globe to investigate and solve some of the world’s most complex problems.

To do so, we must continuously evolve and adapt to provide innovative learning, world-leading scholarship opportunities, and community and commercial experiences that deliver outstanding outcomes.

Our new five-year strategy outlines exactly how we plan to put these words into action.

Herstmonceux Castle Estate

Our Mission

Bader College expands the reach of Queen's University to the wider world through access to our historic UK campus and estate. We have a shared vision for the future - one where we will make a tangible difference in the lives of others - and our strategic plan will help us all take the next steps on that exciting journey together.

Our bold new strategy establishes a clear vision for the future of Bader College under five key themes: Empowering People, Exceptional Education, Enhancing our Estate, Financial Sustainability, and Connecting in the Community.

Our comprehensive plan will ensure that Bader College achieves long-term success and that all members of our community are inspired, valued and supported as we work towards achieving these shared goals.

Exceptional Education

Through our exceptional and unique education programmes our students develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to equip them to investigate and solve some of the world’s most complex problems. By personalising learning, which combines academic theory, practical experience, and personal development, students are able to accelerate their learning in an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration with their professors and peers from across the globe. We collaborate with partners to take our students’ learning beyond the traditional classroom environment.
