New Mohawk Language and Culture Certificate

This summer, Queen's Arts and Science will be launching a new Certificate in Mohawk Language and Culture.

This certificate is offered by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures in partnership with Tsi Tyónnheht Onkwawén:na (TTO) Language and Cultural Centre in Tyendinaga, Mohawk Territory. It will give students knowledge of the language embedded in culturally rich learning experiences and the many traditions, histories and worldviews of the Mohawk people.

The Certificate courses, which are completed over 2 years, are structured as follows:

  • One week instruction (7 hours/day x 5 days = 35 hours) August 13-17, 2018
  • Two weekend days / month (12 hours/month x 3 months = 36 hours)
  • One evening / week (2.5 hours/week x 12 weeks = 30 hours)
  • Homework, online learning (19 hours).

The Certificate in Mohawk Language and Culture will be delivered by the TTO Language and Cultural Centre in Tyendinaga.

The deadline to apply is July 30, 2018.
