Life Sciences Grad is Canada's First Inuk Heart Surgeon
Life Sciences graduate and former president of the Queen's Native Student Association, Dr. Donna May Kimmaliardjuk (ArtSci'11), is Canada's first Inuk heart surgeon.
Dr. Kimmaliardjuk is a resident at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute where she performs open-heart surgery on a frequent basis. She has recently received an Indspire Award and has been profiled on news outlets such as CBC and Nunatsiaq News.
