The Faculty of Arts and Science strongly believes in the benefits of global learning opportunities for our students. Global learning reinforces intercultural understanding and builds employability skills that are increasingly in demand in today’s global market economy. We understand that cost and travel expenses can sometimes be a barrier for students in pursuing international opportunities.
The International Mobility Fund provides support to current undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students who wish to participate in Faculty of Arts and Science global learning activities. The fund assists students by offsetting some of the travel-related expenses related to participating in an Arts and Science global learning experience. The fund is currently supporting international learning programs provided by Faculty of Arts and Science academic departments including Faculty-approved international fieldwork courses, Kwansei Gakuin University Cross Cultural College, and the Venice Summer School. The Queen’s exchange programs, the Bader College and independent study abroad programs are not currently eligible for this funding because they have dedicated sources of funding support through the Student Awards office. Please visit the Exchange and Bader College awards website.
The maximum amount for the travel subsidy is $2,000 CDN. Students may only receive one International Mobility fund allocation during their Queen’s career. Application deadlines are May 1, October 1 and February 1. Students are also encouraged to seek out other sources of funding that are available for some of the Queen’s international programs (Student Awards).
