Named General Bursaries
If you are selected to receive a General Bursary the name of your bursary may be amended to a named general bursary.
- Only the name of your award will change; the value of your General Bursary assistance will not change depending on the name of the award
Eligible students will also be considered for named general bursaries open to students in any faculty or school.
The following awards have been made available thanks to the generosity of Queen's donors.
Dr. Jakub Sawicki Memorial Award
Established in October 2022 by Iris Sawicki in memory of her husband Dr Jakub Sawicki, M.D. 2011. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic achievement to students in any year of a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree program. Preference will be given to students who are immigrants or whose parents are immigrants to Canada.
Janssen Bursary for Equity and Inclusion
Established in January 2022 by Janssen Inc. and awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need to students in any year of any degree program in the Faculty of Health Sciences who self-identify as Indigenous, Black Canadian, 2SLGBTQ+, Visible Minority/Racialized Persons, Persons with Disabilities, or the First Generation from their families to attend a post-secondary institution.
