About this event:
On January 16, 2024, the Federal Government launched a new Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern (STRAC) Policy. The policy will be applicable to grant applications to the federal granting councils – the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), as well as the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).
Given the new policy and scope of applicability, the Vice-Principal Research Portfolio held a town hall on March 19, 2024, to discuss the new STRAC Policy and the implementation strategy being taken by the University, as well as to provide a forum for researchers to have their questions answered about the potential impact of this policy on their research.
