Toby Fyfe

Toby Fyfe is a seasoned senior executive formerly with the Government of Canada and as President and CEO of the not-for-profit Institute on Governance.
Toby’s interests and experience relate to a practical understanding of complex organisations that serve a public purpose. As a federal government executive for 19 years in central agency and line department organizations, he developed an expertise in program design and implementation, corporate services and corporate communications. He has extensive experience in government processes and procedures including multi-year strategic planning, government operations, organizational design and capacity building, organizational performance and public governance.
As President and CEO of the Institute on Governance, Toby developed an expertise in not-for-profit social enterprise organizational performance.
He is also has an interest and experience in adult education, having designed, developed and taught leadership programs to public servants in the federal government, provinces/territories, municipalities (Toronto and Halifax) and in Iraq.
As editor of Canadian Government Executive magazine, he wrote regular articles on the public service issues.
