Queen’s Juris Doctor/Master of Public Administration (JD/MPA) is a three-and-a-half-year combined degree program. The JD/MPA is an excellent choice if you seek to combine advanced skills in policy analysis and management with training in law for successful policy development and implementation. The School of Policy Studies has a strong reputation for advanced education in policy studies in the areas of health policy, global governance, social policy and public policy in the voluntary sector of not-for-profit, community-based, non-governmental organizations.
A limited number of students may be admitted to this combined program. Applications must be made for JD admission through OLSAS and concurrently for admission to the graduate degree through the School of Graduate Studies. An option to complete the combined degree programs in three years is available to students who are selected for and successfully complete an International Law Program at the Bader International Study Centre in the spring term of the first year of the combined program. Students will be assisted by the Career Development Office to seek summering positions and students will pursue the licensing process and articling after graduation.
Full program information can be found on the Queen's Faculty of Law website.
