The Queen’s School of Policy Studies team won Gold at the National Public Administration Case Competition run by the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA) jointly with the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC). The competition is designed to highlight the excellence of Canadian public administration programs and students, as well as provide a valuable learning experience for students.
Congratulations to the team: Kokul Sathiyapalan, Sally Twin, Sarah Homsi, Thomas Goyer, & George Melika-Abusefien! We are so proud of everyone involved. Special thanks to Team Coaches Eugene Lang and Jianyuan (Andy) Hu and to the host institution Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
The Queen’s team beat eleven of the top public policy schools across the country. Congratulations to all the other competitors!
This is the first time Queen's has won Gold in over twelve years of history with this competition. Participants are organized into teams and presented with a ‘real world’ public administration case and accompanying background material and they work together to develop the best solution and deliver presentations for judges. The winning team is also provided an opportunity to publish an article on their presentation in the Policy Options journal published by the Institute for Research on Public Policy.
