For the ninth consecutive year, Queen’s is preparing for Thrive – a week-long series aimed at building positive mental health and wellness through discussion, learning, skill development, and resource sharing. This year’s events focus on compassion and how we can demonstrate compassion through simple, everyday acts and gestures.

Are we taking enough action on the United Nations' SDGs?

In late September, global leaders gathered in New York City for the United Nations’ General Assembly’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Summit. The question on everyone’s mind: at the midway point in an ambitious 15-year pledge to meet a series of SDG targets by 2030, how much progress has been made? The answer, some, but not enough. The summit called for a renewed commitment and energy from participating countries.

Reaffirming continuing relationships between Indigenous communities and Queen's

A Polishing the Chain ceremony took place on October 5 to recognize and renew the ongoing relationship between the university and Indigenous communities. Senior leaders, Queen's senators, staff, faculty, students, and Indigenous community members came together at the new outdoor Indigenous gathering space, located at the south end of Tindall Field.

Statement on Situation in the Middle East

This weekend, we have watched with grave concern the attack on Israel which has led to escalating conflict across the region. This has been particularly distressing for our Israeli and Palestinian community members – including students, faculty, and staff – who have family or direct ties to the region. We extend our greatest sympathies to all those affected by these terrible events.

Join Dale Lackeyram, Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning for an hour-long webinar focused on this year’s nominations for the Principal’s Teaching and Learning Awards.

Learn what is new for 2023 and how best to nominate an individual or group. The webinar will be valuable to first-time nominators, as well as those who have submitted in the past. Plan to attend on October 4 to learn valuable skills for responding to the criteria and crafting an effective nomination.

Topics of discussion will include the required components of successful awards, the evaluation criteria and process, and strategies that enrich and strengthen a competitive nomination.

The webinar will include a Q&A period.
