The Offices of the Vice-Principal (Research) and Vice-Provost, Global Engagement came together to extend a warm welcome to a distinguished delegation of campus presidents from Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico (TecNM). TecNM has campuses all around Mexico, and nine of their campuses were represented during the visit. The opportunity to host the incoming delegation was advanced through Queen’s connections with the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service. The day-long engagement marked a pivotal moment for fostering international collaborations in research and academia.
Thank you to Queen's colleagues (Dr. Brian Amsden, Dr. Dominik Barz, Dr. Praveen Jain, and Dr. Vera Kettnaker), CMC Microsystems, and Kingston Economic Development Corporation for sharing the diversity and depth of the research landscape in Kingston, Ontario, and to Ernesto Lugo Ledesma, delegation head, representing TecNM Celaya Campus, for providing a comprehensive overview of their institution, outlining their key strengths and research initiatives. Throughout the day, TecNM and Queen’s University underscored a shared commitment to fostering impactful research collaborations and global engagement. The exchange of perspectives and ideas laid the foundation for potential future partnerships.
