On September 11, 2023, Queen's University had the honour of hosting a delegation from the French Embassy in Ottawa. The visit was marked by a series of engaging discussions and presentations centered around academic collaboration, research funding, and study abroad opportunities.

The delegation, comprising esteemed representatives from the French Embassy, included:

  1. Charlotte Montel, Head of the Cultural, Scientific, and Higher Education Service.
  2. Jean-François Doulet, Science and Higher Education Attaché.
  3. Rosalie Prat, Science and Academic Project Officer for Ontario and Manitoba.
  4. Noémie Thirot, Campus France Representative and Manager of the Teaching Assistant Program.

In a public presentation titled "Research Funding: Possibilities for Collaboration with France," the French Embassy provided valuable insights into research funding opportunities available for academics and researchers interested in Franco-Canadian collaborations. This presentation opened up new possibilities for joint engagement in research and opportunities to deepen existing connections.

As Queen's University continues to foster international partnerships and promote global engagement, the university looks forward to continuing the conversations started during the visit from the French Embassy in Ottawa. We aim for future collaborations to enrich academic and cultural experiences at Queen's University and strengthen Canada-France friendship and research cooperation.
