Last week, Queen’s hosted a delegation from the Embassy of Mexico in Ottawa led by the Deputy Head of Mission and accompanied by the representative for Education. During the visit to campus, the delegation met with Queen’s Vice-Provost, Global Engagement, Dr. Sandra den Otter to discuss Queen’s continued engagement in Mexico.
Colleagues from the Embassy shared an opportunity with Queen’s to highlight Mexican and Canadian research and academic collaboration through a hub. Additionally, the incoming delegation met with Dr. Tara MacDonald, Associate Dean, School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs and Allison Yokom, Senior Director, International Undergraduate Enrolment to learn more about Queen’s undergraduate and graduate programs and our engagement in Mexico.
The visit concluded with a meeting that featured Queen’s researchers active in Mexico to share their engagement and experiences with student mobility opportunities. Participants included Dr. Lucie Lévesque, Professor, School of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, Dr. Diana Cordoba, Assistant Professor, Department of Global Development Studies, and Dr. Carlos Escobedo, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering.
An announcement about Queen’s deepening engagement in Mexico is coming soon. Keep an eye out on our website.
