Submit an Abstract

Submissions for the 2025 Inquiry@Queen's Conference are now closed.

The submission deadline has been extended to Friday, February 14, 2025 at 4:00 PM EST!

An oral presentation is based on a research paper or project and should be around 10 minutes in length, excluding questions. All presentations will be followed by a short question and answer period. Presenters must send completed presentation deck (as a PowerPoint file) to iatq@queensu.ca by Monday, March 3, 2025.

Poster presentations will take place during Lunch with Posters! on Thursday, March 6. Students will be expected to be in attendance to answer questions (no formal presentation is required). Final posters are to be sent to iatq@queensu.ca by 12 noon on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 to allow sufficient time for review and printing.

Submission Instructions:

Students submit abstracts for a presentation or poster through the Inquiry@Queen's Conference Proceedings Journal on the Queen's University Library website. If you have another idea for a panel, a performance, or a creative display, please email iatq@queensu.ca in advance to discuss.

Please submit one abstract in English (max 300 words). An abstract is a short summary of your research and often includes an a) introduction/problem statement, b) methods/approach, and c) findings/implications. The abstract text is single-spaced and employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses).

You must login (if you have submitted in previous years) or register for an account with the I@Q online journal if you are a new user. You will be required to provide your name, department (affiliation), and Queen's University email address.

Once registered and logged in, you can access the online submission form by selecting  About >> Submission >> Make a new submission on the Submissions page. Please make sure to:

  • Select the appropriate submission form (e.g., Oral Presentation or Poster).
  • Include the course name and faculty supporter for your project, if applicable, under “Comments for the Editor."
  • Include all co-authors as contributors by selecting "Add Contributor."

Abstracts for oral presentations and posters will be included in the I@Q conference proceedings. We will contact you prior to the conference to ensure that all documents have been received. This journal is open access and will serve as a record of all contributions to the Inquiry@Queen's Undergraduate Research Conference. You can refer to it on your résumé and it can be cited by other researchers.
