We would like to welcome our new Department Head, Samantha King, from the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, who starts her five year term January 1, 2016
Trained in cultural studies and sociology, Dr. King is an interdisciplinary scholar of the body, health and sport. She works with feminist, queer, and critical race theories to research a broad variety of topics ranging from drugs to food. Her first book, Pink Ribbons, Inc: Breast Cancer and the Politics of Philanthropy, is the subject of an NFB documentary by the same name.
