Fall 2024
The Department of Gender Studies invites applications from suitably qualified candidates interested in teaching the following course:
GNDS 215S (Online) Introduction to Sexual and Gender Diversity
This course is an introduction to studies in sexuality and gender diversity. It will survey the field and include topics such as classical inquiries into sexuality, contemporary theories on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer identities, sexual movements, human rights, sexual morality, pornography, global sex trade, and queer cultural production. This course is open to all students but required for students enrolled in the Certificate in Sexual and Gender Diversity. It is designed to introduce SXGD students to the field and prepare them for selecting future courses. This is a fall term appointment for the period September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 with classes in session from September 3, 2024, to December 3, 2024
This is a second year course with an expected enrolment of 150 students.
5 teaching assistants will be assigned, and they will each lead two tutorial sections.
GNDS 215S is delivered as an asynchronous course online.
Winter 2025
GNDS 215 Introduction to Sexual and Gender Diversity

4 teaching assistants will be assigned, and they will each lead two tutorial sections.
GNDS 215 is delivered as a two-hour lecture on Mondays from 9:30-11:30, with one-hour tutorial sections on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.
As per the PSAC-Queen’s collective agreement, preference will be given to qualified funding-eligible graduate students registered in the Department of Gender Studies doctoral program at Queen's and who have relevant teaching experience.

- Cover letter detailing how your academic accomplishments and relevant experience make you a strong candidate for the course you are applying for;
- Curriculum vitae;
- An unofficial transcript of graduate coursework;
- The names and contact information of two referees (reference letters not needed);
- Proposed course outline or syllabus for the course you are applying for; and
- Any other relevant materials the candidate wishes to submit for consideration.

Teaching Fellows at Queen’s University are governed by the Collective Agreement for Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows between PSAC Local 901 and Queen’s University.
As per PSAC 901 Unit 1 Collective Agreement, Gender Studies Graduate Students in Preference Group A will be given priority.
Remuneration will be in accordance with the collective agreement, and appointments are subject to funding or enrollment criteria.
