Donor Story:
Since 1974, various members of the Roane family have enjoyed the privilege of attending Queen’s University and have benefited from the degrees that they earned. The Roane Family Admission Bursary was established by the Roane family to encourage and assist deserving students from Canmore, Alberta to attend undergraduate programs at Queen’s University. This award recognizes that the cost of pursuing university studies at Queen’s may be a deterrent to certain qualified students from Canmore or from the Bow Valley to seek admission to Queen’s. This award is intended to assist students from Canmore with demonstrated financial need to afford pursuing undergraduate degrees from Queen’s. This award is targeted to students graduating from Canmore High School in order to recognize the excellent education provided by the public school system in Canmore and to provide a benefit to the local community.
