Donor Story:
At a Toronto Queen's Law Alumni meeting Don Carter and Tom Asplan and I were chatting about tuition and students in financial need. I had just made a donation to McMaster in memory of Rosa Maude Sheardown who had taken me in as a ward of the Children's Aid Society. I left her farm for university with $200 and a bank loan cosigned by the Sheardowns. I've been fortunate over the years to have had some wonderful mentors and financial aid, hence the donation by my wife Kathryn and me.
Fund Description:
Established by Gordon R. Baker, QC, LL.B. 1970, and Kathryn Baker, B.Ed. 1969, and awarded to students in the Faculty of Law on the basis of financial need.
