Donor Story:
As founding professor of The Department of Geography at Queen's in 1960, and now Emeritus Professor of Geography at Queen's, I wished to honour Dr. Taylor, who also founded the department at the University of Toronto, the first geography department established at a Canadian university. I was the 6th geographer to graduate, at Toronto, and therefore in Canada. Taylor earlier had established the first geography department in Australia, at the University of Sydney. He was earlier a member of Captain Scotts' expedition to seek the South Pole. I wish to keep his name a familiar one to Geography students.
