This fund was established to recognize the enormous contributions that David made as an instructor, mentor, researcher, leader and friend. David believed very passionately in the value of ideas and discussion, whether in a research context, in the classroom, or in industrial courses, consulting, and presentations. The David W. Bacon Distinguished Speakers Series fund will provide a permanent foundation on which to invite speakers from a range of disciplines related to Chemical Engineering, and to engineering more broadly, to share their knowledge and perspectives with students and faculty.
Fund Description:
The David W. Bacon Distinguished Speaker Series was established to support the costs associated with bringing eminent academics or leaders from the spheres of research and practice in Chemical Engineering to Queen’s University campus. These funds will be used to cover expenses related to the seminars and lectures held within the academic year (e.g., travel, accommodation, food, advertising and publication, honoraria and/or speaking fees).
