The Commerce '48 Entrance Award

Donor Story:

In memory of those who, had they returned alive
From war, might then have come to Queen's.
Leaders of men new found, some still within their teens,
From those whom fortune favoured to survive.

Poem written by BCom'48 class member.

Fund Description:

Established in January 1999 and revised in October 2015 by Commerce '48 in honour of their 50th Reunion in recognition of the financial assistance provided to members of this Class by others, and also in memory of those who might have become classmates had they not died in World War II.  Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic excellence to students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.  The award is renewable for 3 subsequent years provided a minimum GPA of 2.7 is maintained each year and financial need remains evident.
