The Cogeco Connexion Inc. Fund in support of the UPstart Venture Challenge Competition.
Cogeco believes in investing in the communities they serve and see the UPstart Venture College initiative as a natural fit. Many of Queen’s University’s past and present students will be afforded an opportunity through this venture to start down the path of becoming successful lifelong Entrepreneurs.
The UPstart Venture Challenge, a competition led by Smith Centre for Business Venturing and Smith Venture Network, has been created to accelerate success and give alumni and students the opportunity to present creative business plans to a panel of experienced judges. Event attendees, including potential investors, will also be given the opportunity to take an advance look at up-and-coming Queen’s/Smith entrepreneurial ventures.
The Cogeco Fund in support of the UPstart Venture Challenge Competition was established to provide funding to the winners to help execute their business plan.
Fund description:
Established by Cogeco Connexion Inc to provide funding to the winners of the UPstart Venture Challenge Competition. Should the Competition cease to exist the funds can be used to help support Smith School of Business students with their ventures.
