Donor Story:
To mark the end of his first term as the 14th Chancellor of Queen’s University, The Chancellor Jim Leech Bursary for Indigenous Students was established by Chancellor Jim Leech, MBA 1973, to support Indigenous students at Queen’s. This in-course bursary fund aligns with recommendations of Queen’s University’s 2017 Truth and Reconciliation Commission Task Force Report, related to enhancing supports for Indigenous students to maximize opportunities for retention and graduation. This bursary will assist Indigenous students in fully participating in the academic and extra-curricular life of the university; it will promote inclusion, retention and success. Specifically, by helping to fund the educational experience of Indigenous students with demonstrated financial need, this bursary will help ensure they can continue their studies through to graduation.
