Dr. Malcolm Peat Lectureship Fund

Donor Story:

The Dr. Malcolm Peat Lectureship Fund was established by faculty, friends and family with the support of the School of Rehabilitation Therapy in memory of Dr. Malcolm Peat, former Director of the Queen’s University School of Rehabilitation Therapy and founder of the International Centre for the Advancement of Community Based Rehabilitation (ICACBR).

Malcolm's vision of CBR was that of working with local groups on an equal partnership basis always including persons and organizations with disability, to implement programs to establish community service to enhance the opportunities of the most vulnerable populations. Universities have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the development of programs affecting disabled and other vulnerable persons and promoting health and social programs, recognizing the human rights of those in need.

The Dr. Malcolm Peat Lectureship Fund was established to support the costs associated with bringing prominent speakers on topics related to Community Based Rehabilitation including but not limited to Global Health & Global Rehabilitation to the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queen’s University campus.
