I chose to attend Queen's because of the incredible faculty and the sense of community that the university has. After I complete my degree, I hope to pursue a graduate degree in public policy and a Juris Doctor. My career goal is to work in social policy development and women's advocacy — specifically, criminalized women and survivors of domestic violence.
I am able to focus on my academic interests without worrying about the financial cost of doing so, something that I did not expect to be possible until chosen as the recipient of a student award. I am able to study at my dream university. My student award has completely changed the course of my life, and I hope to continue to demonstrate the expectations required of an award recipient throughout my time at Queen's and beyond.
