Bagpipes played, memories were shared, friendships were renewed and a few happy tears were shed as thousands of alumni came back to Queen’s to make this year’s Homecoming a celebration of community.
“The weekend was a tremendous success thanks to the dedicated work of alumni reunion and class volunteers, student volunteers, and staff across the university. Alumni and their families were welcomed home in true tricolor style,” said Sarah Indewey, Manager of Volunteer Relations and Reunions at Queen’s.
Alumni from as far away as Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and China – as well as grads from as far back as 1941 – converged on campus.
It was a chance to watch a football game, connect with current students, visit new facilities, tour Kingston and reminisce with friends. Some grads celebrated the weekend by giving back to Queen’s through class gifts.
