Dec. 3 marks the return of GivingTuesday – just one month away. Founded in 2012, the day encourages acts of generosity – like volunteering, acts of kindness, and raising money for a cause. The global generosity movement emphasizes the importance of every act of generosity, no matter the size.
“I’m a proud Queen’s donor and longtime volunteer,” says Queen’s University Alumni Association President Allison Williams, Artsci’09. “I've seen firsthand the difference alumni contributions make on campus and to current students. We’re asking you to choose your passion and help make a difference.”
This GivingTuesday, you can choose your passion and support groundbreaking research and scholarship excellence. You can help our teams compete on and off the field with a gift to support academic and athletic excellence. You can also choose to support an interest or club and advance social impact.
The choice is yours.
Queen’s Health Sciences launched a groundbreaking, first-in-Canada education model that addresses the critical shortage of family doctors by preparing new physicians to meet the needs of communities across Canada, in partnership with Lakeridge Health.
At Smith Engineering, engineering education is being reimagined with the Engineering Career Accelerator Program, which equips students with a human-centred approach to address complex social and environmental challenges.
The School of Computing’s Autonomous Robots Research is applying lessons learned from models to make autonomous vehicles safer for the highways of tomorrow.
There are many other ways to support the Queen’s community. Some alumni are passionate about encouraging Queen’s teams on and off the field of play. By supporting Queen’s Athletics, alumni give everyone something to cheer about. GivingTuesday is the perfect time to help the university’s Indigenization - Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility (I-EDIAA) initiatives, through a gift to one of the chapters.
“With your support, Queen’s students can continue to take part in cutting-edge training and research,” says Samantha Rogers, President, Queen's Student Alumni Association (QSAA), “but alumni giving helps support the clubs and associations that are essential components of student life.”
If you don’t want to wait until Dec. 3, you can choose your passion and lead by giving today.
