Join the Varsity Sailing Team and alumni for a day of racing with the team's c420s. Enjoy dinner, dancing, and music after the regatta with a gala celebration. This day-long event welcomes all alumni, lifelong Gaels, and supporters of Queen’s Sailing.
Regatta
Racing will be done in the team's c420s. Each boat will need a skipper and crew. If you need a sailing team member, please contact us. The course will be shorter to facilitate collegiate style racing. Racing rules of sailing apply. Skippers should meet at the Kingston Yacht Club at 10 am. First gun commences at 10:30 am and prizes will be awarded at 4 pm.
Gala
Enjoy dinner, live music and dancing at the Kingston Yacht Club for a Gala celebration. This semi-formal event includes a dinner of whole roasted black Angus prime rib or a vegetarian meal. Cocktails and hors d'ouevres will be available at 6 pm and dinner starts at 7 pm. A cash bar is available for drink purchases. Dancing and live music will follow dinner at 9 pm.
Help the Team's Fleet Renewal Initiative. Our current 2006 c420 fleet is very nearly reaching the end of its operational life, our team is racing against time to fundraise $50,000 to acquire a 2021 fleet of Laser Performance z420s at an incredibly discounted price. The z420 is more durable, safe, and a better performing collegiate racing boat, demonstrated by its wide use across United States colleges. These boats would serve our team for years to come.
