About the speaker:
Dr. Katherine McKittrick is a professor of Gender Studies and Canada Research Chair in Black Studies. She authored Demonic Grounds: Black Women and the Cartographies of Struggle (UMP, 2006) and edited and contributed to Sylvia Wynter: On Being Human as Praxis (DUP, 2015). Her most recent monograph, Dear Science and Other Stories (DUP, 2021) is an exploration of black methodologies.
The QBAC Speaker Series is an expert/panelist-style event held three to four times annually to profile Black alumni, faculty or staff members who are making an impact in the community. Our mandate is to connect Black alumni in support of each other's aspirations and in building a global community that impacts inclusion, economic and social innovation. We also hope to inspire future alumni to pursue their passions and gain inspiration from the many talented individuals that are part of this esteemed group.
