Opening and closing remarks will be made by Queen's Alumna Alia Dedhar, Artsci'05, who is the Consul and Trade Commissioner for Innovation at the Consulate General of Canada in New York and Tvo Entchev, President of the Canadian American Bar Association.
Alia Dedhar is a career diplomat and currently serves as the Consul and Head of Innovation at the Consulate General of Canada in New York. Here, she leads the Innovation team with a focus on accelerating the commercial success of high growth Canadian companies through the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA). Her portfolio also includes access to venture capital in the New York community and supporting the success of women in tech. Previously, Alia served as the Second Secretary Commercial at the Embassy of Canada to the United States of America in Washington D.C where she was responsible for government procurement and homeland security. Alia is a graduate of Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
