From the Hearth with Billie the Kid

Kingston, ON

Enjoy a workshop on poetry and spoken word poems with Billie the Kid, a K’ai Taile Dené and Nehiyaw spoken word poet and storyteller, in collaboration with Mandy Wilson, Community Connection Coordinator at the Kingston Indigenous Languages Nest(link is external). Join Billie the Kid and Mandy at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre where new and experienced poets are guided through the art of storytelling and finding an individual voice that celebrates collective memory and belonging.

From the Hearth is an in-person poetry and spoken word workshop series that explores the journeys, stories, and connections we share as humans. Participate in discussions about why stories are important, exercises in expression and inspiration, and the importance of collaboration and community.

All are welcome to attend and no experience is required.
