We've added more spaces and we hope you can join the Calgary Branch for our annual summer barbecue at Edworthy Park on its rescheduled date, August 18. Reconnect with your local Queen's alumni community and celebrate summer. Family, friends, and current and future Queen's students are also welcome to attend.
We will have hotdogs, vegetarian dogs, and light refreshments. We invite you to bring your own BBQ fare and beverages to enjoy. Please share any dietary restrictions so we can plan food accordingly.
Getting there
The nearest parking is located in the Edworthy Park South Parking Lot. Please note you must cross the CN Rail line to access the picnic area from this lot. There is also parking available at the Edworthy Park North Parking Lot, a 15–minute walk away across the Harry Boothman Bridge.
The closest transit stop to the picnic site is at Bowness Road and Point Drive NW, a 15–minute walk away.
Accessibility
Please note that two washrooms at Edworthy Park will be under construction at the time of the event, and the city will be providing Port-a-potties on site. There may be some temporary disruptions to pathways to accommodate construction and the City will use temporary rubber pathway mats to assist with navigation and reduce the impacts to accessibility.
