Volunteers Sought to Chair Thesis Defense Exams
Retirees who were members of School of Graduate Studies and Research are invited to volunteer to chair Thesis Defence exams in their former Divisions.
Dear RAQ members,
I am writing to encourage RAQ members to volunteer as chairs of thesis defenses. As you may know, August and September are particularly busy months where Queen’s has a large number of graduate students defending their theses. During this time, it is challenging for our Thesis Coordinator, Rose Silva to find enough regular faculty members to chair all of the PhD defences and for graduate assistants in departments and schools to find chairs for Master’s theses. If you have supervised a graduate student within the past decade and you are interested in helping out as a chair for one or more theses, please contact Rose Silva at 613-533-6000 ext. 77313 or thesis@queensu.ca.
Many thanks to those of you who have volunteered as Chairs in previous years,
Kim B. McAuley
