All applicants are thanked for their interest; however, only those candidates that most closely meet our requirements will receive a reply.

Students

We seek gifted students that possess a thirst for knowledge, who can think for themselves, and who can communicate effectively with others; they should also be well versed in solid state physics, quantum mechanics, and optics. Graduate studentships are available each year, and full funding is available for any nationality and typically starts from the Fall (September). Within our group, you will have the opportunity to work on several exciting and challenging research projects, while acquiring a broad range of skills.

Potential graduate students who have excelled in their undergraduate studies (e.g. NSERC PGS/CGS award calibre) and who want to work at the forefront of science and technology are particularly welcome to get in touch. Active researchers with their own funding are also welcome to explore potential opportunities within the group. Please feel free to contact me and I would be delighted to discuss potential opportunities in more detail.

We also have places for Queen's Accelerated MSc Students, nominally starting in May each year (from end of 3rd year). Applications are made in the Fall term and feel free to contact me if interested in this excellent program.

Additional information in graduate applications is also available at: Applicants, or by emailing Alla Kryachkova (ak204 AT queensu DOT ca).
