The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures is a vibrant and diverse unit with over 30 full-time faculty members in the disciplines of Anishinaabemowin, Arabic, Chinese, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Linguistics, Mohawk, Oneida, Portuguese and Spanish.
The Department consists of 11 FTE faculty members with a breadth and diversity within the fields of Linguistics and Hispanic, Italian, German, and Spanish languages, literatures and cultures together with tackling international social concerns from a diverse cultural angle. Each faculty member continues to be engaged in research that addresses both national and international issues.
In addition, there are close to 20 Continuing/Term Adjuncts, who teach primarily language acquisition courses in all the languages the Department offers.
Faculty members and students are supported by 2 dedicated staff members.
