Community Action Table

Over the course of six months from December 2023 to February 2024, the I-CREAte Research Team worked with community partners to host 11 community meetings with service providers, service users and members of the community. Some of the demographics of those community meetings included, seniors, newcomers, LGBTQIA2+ newcomers, youth, Indigenous community members, City of Kingston staff, underserved and marginalized community members, and members of the general public.  In these community meetings, I-CREAte shared the results of the Engaging Families to Build Healthy Communities project.

Sorting solutions Creating topics for solutions Solutions in first round of topic areas

The community meetings were facilitated in a way to allow community to identify solutions and actions to some of the problems identified by participating families in this project. Hundreds of solutions were identified as shown in images above. The solutions were sorted into topics by the I-CREAte team, who then identified actors and audience for each solution.

The result of these meetings is a detailed and rigorous Community-led Action Table. The Community Action Table is a sortable table that can be used by municipal governments, community organizations, service providers and members of the public to explore what actions community has identified as needed to better support family and community resilience in Kingston.
