Stacey Forbes, PhD Student
Stacey completed her BScH in Human Kinetics and MSc in Exercise, Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Guelph. Her MSc research looked at the effects of dietary nitrate supplementation on oxygen consumption during submaximal exercise in well-trained female ringette athletes. Stacey is currently completing her PhD here at Queen’s University in the Human Vascular Control Laboratory. Her research is focused on the coordination of the various mechanisms involved in the cardiovascular response to increased vasodilation during cycling exercise.
Abby Zedic, MSc Student
Originally from Claremont, Abby completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology here at Queen’s University. She completed a 3rd Year Internship with Dr. Tschakovsky, followed by a 4th Year Thesis Project with Dr. Gurd. Abby is currently completing her Master’s degree in the Human Vascular Control Lab, where she’s testing the hemodynamic response to increased cardiac activation.
Stuart Mladen, MSc Student
Stu grew up in Mississauga, ON, and completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Queen’s University. Stu completed a research internship in the Human Vascular Control Lab during his third year, and a 4th year thesis project under the supervision of Dr. Gurd. Stu is now completing his Master’s degree, where he is investigating the cardiovascular responses to ‘Blood Flow Restriction’ exercise.
