June is Pride Month, and Queen’s is flying the Progress Pride Flag in front of Douglas Library to recognize this significant time of year and show support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Throughout June, there are a number of ways to recognize Pride both on campus and in Kingston, including:

  • Pride Sign Making Event hosted by Yellow House Student Centre for Equity and Inclusion, June 7, 3:30-6:30 p.m. at 140 Stuart St. (Queen’s community)
  • Pride Rides cycle classes, every Monday in June at the Athletics and Recreation Centre
  • Kingston Pride Parade, June 15, Noon-1 p.m.
  • Kingston Pride Community Fair, June 15, 10 a.m–5 p.m., Confederation Basin
  • Kingston Pride in the Square, June 15, 7–11 p.m., Springer Market Square
  • Movies in The Square, June 20, Springer Market Square

Yellow House and The Shift Project will be hosting a booth at the Kingston Pride Community Fair, where they will facilitate a community mural.

The Faculty of Education Gender and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) will be marching in the Kingston Pride Parade, and members of the Queen’s community are invited to march with them. They are meeting at the Memorial Centre at 11 a.m. on June 15.
