Ramadan 2025

Hospitality Services supports students, staff, and faculty observing Ramadan in campus dining halls and retail food locations.

Consultation with the Queen’s University Muslim Student Association is underway to ensure all appropriate considerations are made to best support students during this time.

Leonard and Jean Royce dining halls

Throughout the month of Ramadan, two halal animal protein dishes and a vegetarian/vegan dish are available each night, identifiable by wellness icons on in-person menu boards (not currently available on digital menus online).

For Meal Plan Holders (with dining hall access): Pick and Pack meal options are available to you after breaking fast in the dining hall (in-person) for your Iftar meal. You can pack food to-go using your GOOD TO GO reusable container from Leonard or Jean Royce dining halls to take for your Suhoor meal. Miscellaneous packaged breakfast food items are found in the breakfast stations at Leonard and the coffee station at Jean Royce available for eligible students to take to-go.

Non-Meal Plan Or Flex plan Holders: Pick and Pack are unavailable to you but join us for an Iftar meal ($17.50 + tax). Accepted tenders: Flex $, debit, credit.

Ramadan Supports in Retail Food Locations

Halal, vegan, and vegetarian offerings are identified on retail menu boards with wellness icons in proprietary retail food locations and within the Transact Mobile App in menu descriptions.

Late-night offerings are available at Lazy Scholar and Location 21, until 1:00am. View hours at a glance for up-to-date hours of operation.

*Please note that food prep equipment may be shared when dining in retail locations. Patrons are encouraged to speak with a chef, manager, or supervisor about questions concerning ingredient information or special diet meal preparation.
