Students

As a Queen’s student you currently have access to a vibrant landscape of experiential learning activities. Examples include:

  • 12-16 month paid work placements through the Queen’s Undergraduate Internship Program (QUIP)

  • Practicums such as those in Nursing, Education, Kinesiology, or the Masters in Public Health

  • Co-Curricular opportunities ranging from student leadership positions to administering student clubs.

The Benefits of Experiential Learning

Participating in experiential learning activities at Queen’s University can have a very positive impact on your academic and professional careers. By participating in EL, you will: 

  • Acquire in-demand workplace skills (technical and non-technical) through curricular and co-curricular experiences

  • Build your professional network through internships, practicums and experiential learning projects  

  • Explore career options and/or confirm your interest in a chosen profession

  • Explore the relationship between theory and practice, and gain new insight into course material

  • Participate in self-directed learning opportunities;

  • Gain realistic knowledge and experience of the workplace.
