Queen’s University offers everything needed to host large-scale sporting events and tournaments on campus. Boasting a variety of state-of-the-art athletic facilities, on-site accommodations, dining halls, and meeting and banquet spaces, Queen’s provides the complete package.
Our campus is located in picturesque Kingston, Ontario, just off Highway 401 between Toronto and Montreal. Kingston is easily accessible by train and air.
According to the 2020 Canadian Sport Hosting (CSH) Index;
- In cities with 150,000 to 500,000 in population, Kingston was named the top city for hosting national sports championships and international competitions

Sports Venues
The Queen's Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC) features: Gymnasium with seating for up to 1,900 spectators | Four additional gymnasiums with space for multiple courts | Fitness centre | Indoor 25-meter 14-lane pool | Squash and racquet courts and multi-purpose rooms | Four artificial turf fields, including Richardson Stadium, with a capacity for up to 8,000 people.
Queen's Pool
Kingston's largest and fully accessible pool. This naturally lit area is a great place to learn to swim, perfect your stroke or enjoy a dip.
Main Gym
The gym offers several configurations & setups from sporting events to receptions and large conventions, with seating for up to 1,900 spectators.
Richardson Stadium
Richardson Stadium has all new amenities including integrated and varied seating options, and improved sightlines to be closer to the action on the field.
Combative Room
The Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) has a combative room with full mats and padded walls for martial arts, wrestling and other combative or tumbling sport needs.
Squash and Racquetball Courts
Queen's has eight international squash courts and two racquetball courts. It is Kingston and surrounding area's largest indoor racquet facility.
High Performance Training Centre
The centre includes a 4,000-square foot weight room, a medicine ball power wall for throwing and catching drills, and a 35-metre turf area for movement, conditioning, and skills development.
Outdoor Spaces
Green spaces on the Queen’s campus provide an excellent opportunity for outdoor tent events and activities. With options ranging from picturesque courtyards to professional sporting fields, we can help you find the ideal venue for your event.
Regulation Tennis Courts
Located beside Nixon Field, the Tennis area features two regulation courts. Tennis Courts are operational from late spring until early fall.
Nixon Field
With a new MondoTurf surface, this multi-purpose field fits into the existing landscape in the heart of campus and is considered a premier rugby facility in Canada.
Tindall Field
Tindall Field is a full-sized, artificial multi-season playing field with a recreational jogging track around the perimeter, available for open recreational use.
Queen’s Accommodations and Dining
Queen's Residences are an affordable on-site housing and accommodation solution for any large sports event during the summer months. They offer both air-conditioned rooms in the newer buildings (1,200 beds) and economical non-air-conditioned rooms (1,000+ beds) suitable for all needs and budgets. The option for advance meal planning made through our on-campus dining halls makes planning easy, and the reasonably priced, all-you-care-to-eat buffet is a satisfying option for groups and teams.
Meeting Facilities
Queen’s campus offers a wide variety of venues for conferences, meetings, banquets, and events. Our experienced event coordinators are pleased to provide a full spectrum of professional event management services, making the complete coordination of your event simple and successful.
