About the Survey

Queen’s is committed to improving our organizational culture. Addressing employee wellbeing and creating a sense of community, inclusion, and belonging at Queen's is a priority for the university. Workplace culture is a key strategic goal of the Principal’s new strategy. As more employees return to the workplace and others continue to work on a remote basis, it is important that we take the steps necessary to better understand employees’ current experiences and more deeply understand what is needed to improve our work environment. This survey is the first step in that process.

Survey Design

Queen’s has engaged an experienced consultant, Metrics@Work, to administer the Employee Experiences Survey. The survey questions come from their database of empirically tested questions with benchmarking data from other Canadian universities. Some additional questions have been added to measure areas that are relevant to Queen's and our people. All questions were reviewed by an internal Advisory Board with diverse representation from across the Queen's community.

The survey consists of several Likert scale questions as well as additional open-ended questions. It will take approximately 25 minutes to complete and is open to all staff and faculty.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Survey responses are strictly confidential and will be used for the purpose of taking action to improve experiences of employees at Queen’s. Metrics@Work will keep all individual responses anonymous so Queen’s or any third party will never be able to identify individual responses.
