The Equity Gala

The Equity Gala is a bold celebration of equity-deserving students and their diverse talents, identity and experiences, including (but not limited to) racialized/BIPoC students, 2SLGBTQ+ students and students with disabilities. The Equity Gala features two main events—the Fashion Runway and the Talent Show—and several other activities that promote equity, diversity and inclusion at Queen’s, including free culturally diverse snacks, refreshments and catering, raffles for gift baskets (money will be donated to an equity-based charity), a photobooth, fun games/crafts, and a quiet space.

For audience members, we are opening the registration to all students from any faculty (not just Health Sciences). Audience members do not have to be part of an equity-deserving group because the purpose of the event is to uplift the voices and experiences of equity-deserving students — and it's important that this is a collective effort between equity-deserving students and allies.

There will a lot of free culturally-diverse catered food, snacks and drinks, and performances! The event is in collaboration with the Yellow House, Social Issues Commission (including EQuIP), Queen's Asian Student Association, Poco a Poco, Humans of Health Sci, and the Computing Student Association.

Please note: attendees are not required to stay for the whole event. Drop-ins welcome!
