Gail has been a calming, non-judgemental presence in my life at Queen's. She is easily accessible when I need her assistance and she advocates for me with my professors. She is a greater listener and provides the necessary support and solutions when I'm at my most vulnerable. Gail has helped me transition back to university with ease and has provided me with a great deal of resources available at Queen's in order to do so. Knowing that I have her support gives me strength to tackle things, even when I falter. I feel stronger having Gail as an advisor in the academic years to come.

Positive mental health is being able to navigate the highs and lows of daily life while keeping the bigger picture in balance. It's important to realize that we will not always be in a position to manage it all or advocate for ourselves. In these instances, accepting a helping hand can help us regain our footing and build our resilience.

Life can be overwhelming, not only in the day-to-day but with the extra surprises that pop up along the way. Through the CARE Referral Program, I offer students an opportunity to voice their struggles and help build a plan to address them. This team approach helps to remove barriers to support, making mental health resources and student care more accessible.

It's not always about having a great day, it's about having a day. Ask for help when you need it.
